Short answer: fan noise is a good candidate for noise reduction when the speaker is louder than the fan and the recording is not clipped. Upload an audio file, choose the no-cost 30-second preview, and judge the result before processing the full recording.
What fan noise sounds like
Fan and air-conditioner noise is usually a steady hiss or low hum under the voice. It can come from a desk fan, HVAC, refrigerator or laptop. Because it stays relatively consistent, a speech-focused denoiser can often reduce it without removing the whole voice.
It is less suitable when the fan is changing speed, the microphone is rattling, or the voice is completely covered. Background music, another person talking and clipped audio are different problems and are not what this tool is designed to fix.
Remove fan noise from an existing recording
- Choose an MP3, WAV, M4A or AAC file up to 100 MB and 30 minutes.
- Select the part where the fan is most obvious, then create the free 30-second AI preview.
- Compare the original and cleaned speech. The preview uses the same model settings as the full file.
- If the voice sounds natural, process the full recording and download a cleaned WAV.
The audio is uploaded for processing only after you ask for the preview. If you use a video, the original picture stays on your device and only its extracted audio is uploaded.
Record a better take next time
- Move the microphone closer to the speaker instead of increasing the recording gain.
- Put the microphone away from the fan's direct airflow.
- Turn off the fan for a short interview or voiceover if it is safe to do so.
- Keep the recording below clipping; louder is not always clearer.
Try the audio noise remover with your own file. Results depend on the recording, so the free preview is the honest test. See the supported formats before choosing a file.
