Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of removebackgroundnoise.org (the "service"), run by Remove Background Noise ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Questions: support@removebackgroundnoise.org.

The service

Remove Background Noise reduces background noise in speech recordings. You choose an audio or video file on your device, hear a free 30-second AI preview, and can pay for minutes to process the full recording. For video, only the audio is uploaded; the picture stays on your device and the cleaned sound is put back into your video in your browser.

Your account

You need an account to process a full file. Give accurate details, keep your sign-in safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.

Your recordings

• You own your recordings and the cleaned results. We claim no rights in them.
• You give us permission to process them, only to provide the service to you: to store, transmit and run noise reduction on them, and to let you download the result.
• You promise that you have the right to process every recording you upload, and that you have the permission of anyone who can be heard where the law requires it.
• We do not use your recordings to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for how long files are kept and who handles them.

What we promise, and what we do not

We process your file with an AI model and give you the result. AI results vary with the recording. We do not promise that all noise is removed, that every recording can be repaired, or that processing takes a fixed time. Voices that are fully buried, clipped audio, several people speaking at once, and background music are not covered. Judge the result in the free preview before buying; it uses the same model and settings as the full file.

Minutes, pricing and expiry

• Minutes are sold as a one-time pack. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal. Prices are in US dollars; any tax is shown at checkout.
• A file uses minutes by its audio length, rounded up to a whole minute, with a 50 ms allowance at the exact minute. Audio and video cost the same.
• The minutes a file needs are shown, and fixed, before you confirm. Minutes are deducted when you confirm.
• Unused minutes expire 365 days after purchase. The expiry date is shown before you pay.
• A file shorter than one minute is charged as one minute. The free 30-second preview is a sample, not a download of the full file.
• Minutes have no cash value, cannot be transferred or resold, and are not a deposit.

Cancelling and refunds

A task can be cancelled only while it is queued and has not reached the AI service; the minutes are then returned once. If a task fails before the AI service starts, the minutes are returned once. Once the AI service has started, minutes are not returned automatically. Cash refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.

Limits

Each file can be up to 30 minutes, 100 MB for audio or 500 MB for video. We do not cut files automatically. One full file can run at a time per account. Free previews are limited per day; the limit is shown on the page. We may pause the service, for example for maintenance or capacity; nothing is charged for a paused service.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

• process recordings that are unlawful, that you have no right to process, or that were made covertly where that is illegal;
• harm, harass, defraud or impersonate anyone;
• try to get around limits, quotas or payments, or load the service in ways that harm others;
• probe, attack or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing service from its output at scale;
• upload malware or content designed to break the service.

We may remove content, refuse a task, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close your account without a breach on your side, we will refund the unused minutes.

Copyright

We respond to notices of claimed infringement as described on the DMCA and content notices page.

Our service and brand

The service, its software, design and the name Remove Background Noise belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service, not to copy or resell it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Third-party services

The service relies on providers such as Cloudflare, Replicate and Stripe. Their availability and terms can affect the service; we choose them with care but are not responsible for their own systems.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your original recordings: we are not a backup service and results are kept for 24 hours only.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where we are established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer-protection law where you live still applies. Please write to us first; most problems can be solved without a dispute.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For changes that matter, we will tell signed-in users by email or on the site before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
