About Remove Background Noise

Remove Background Noise (removebackgroundnoise.org) is a web tool that reduces steady background noise under speech in audio and video recordings. You hear a free 30-second AI preview of your own file first, then pay only if you want the full recording cleaned.

What it does

• Reduces fan and air-conditioning hiss, device and microphone hum, general room noise and, in video, wind under speech.
• Accepts MP3, WAV, M4A and AAC audio up to 100 MB, and MP4 (H.264 video with AAC audio) up to 500 MB. Files can be up to 30 minutes long.
• Returns a clean WAV, or an MP4 that keeps your original picture.

How your files are handled

• Video stays on your device. Your browser extracts the audio track; only that audio is uploaded for AI processing. The cleaned sound is put back under your picture in your browser.
• Uploaded audio is deleted within 24 hours at the latest, and within 1 hour if you never confirm a full-file task. Cleaned audio is kept for 24 hours, and you can delete it sooner.

What it cannot fix

Voices that are fully buried in noise, clipped recordings, several people talking at once, and background music are outside what this tool handles. The free preview exists so you can judge the result on your own recording before paying.
